Garden City Movement - Before I Fall

Hazy, wallowing synths paint a surrealistic soundscape in ‘Before I Fall’, Garden City Movement’s new single.

The dream-state track from the Israeli group is almost trance like in its capturing of a wondering, lo-fi electronic buzz. ‘Before I Fall’ plays out like a dreamy nod to the comedown of a high. While Garden City Movement are no strangers to lo-fi sounds, ‘Before I Fall’ feels acquainted and influenced by the works of Sufjan Stevens and to a lesser extent the minimalistic sound of sophomore Massive Attack.

With ‘Before I Fall’ on repeat, it’s difficult to gauge where the song begins and ends almost as though it was produced to be looped. That said, after listening to the single countless times, I cannot wait to listen to Garden City Movement’s sophomore album.
