Bag Raiders Interview - Staycation For NYE
We caught up with Jack Glass from beloved Aussie duo Bag Raiders. Performing at NYE in the Park the pair are set to bring in 2020 with their infectious electro attitude and vigour. Jack talked us through the band’s New Year’s plans at NYE in the Park, plus more!
Futuremag Music: Hey Bag Raiders, how're you guys going?
Bag Raiders: Hey Futuremag Music, I am doing great thanks for asking.
Futuremag Music: Congratulations on the new album, it's packed with vivacious releases! Could you briefly talk us through the writing and production process?
Bag Raiders: Vivacious is a good word! Thanks! It’s really hard to narrow this album down to one method or process. It was such a long journey - one that spanned many years, countries, studios, life changes. Really no two tunes have the same genesis.
But in a sense I really like that. It makes the whole feel quite epic to me (even if people hearing it for the first time don’t know the full story, I hope it comes through in the music) and fits the bag raiders ethos which has always been to beg, borrow, steal from all over and not limit ourselves to genres, ideas or emotions.

Futuremag Music: You're performing at NYE in the Park, what's your favourite part about New Years celebrations? Do you have any traditions for special shows like this?
Bag Raiders: Anytime everyone is up for a party is a good time to perform. It’s nice for us to do it in Sydney as we’re often elsewhere. A home town show on NYE, what could be better?
Futuremag Music: "New year, new me" is a common theme each NYE, do you have any New Year's resolutions?
Bag Raiders: Beyond the usual (boring) eat better, drink less I’d like to take some daring trips in 2020, really go off piste.
Futuremag Music: To wrap it up, if Bag Raiders was a cocktail, what would be in it to best describe the project and its sonic?
Bag Raiders: Wet pussy, because we’re a classic with a kick!
